Incubator 2024 Wrap

Onward and upward

Hey Myco Fam,

Let’s do an Incubator tomorrow - Invite at the bottom of this newsletter.

I relaunched Mycopreneur.com this week and have three new articles upHere’s the latest article from today. It dives into the growing world of ‘Myco-Tourism’

If anyone wants to contribute writing to the site, the door is open.

It’s been a blast hosting the incubators and getting to connect with everyone who turns up - let’s keep it going.

Mycopreneur Spotlight: Cesar Marin

Shoutout to Cesar and Cultivating Wisdom for sponsoring this week’s Mycopreneur Newsletter

Cesar from Cultivating Wisdom clothing company has been a regular attendee at the incubators since the get go. He’s enjoying a second act as a mushroom entrepreneur after spending 25 years as an international sports producer at CNN. He’s created a unique and valuable offering in the mushroom space by lending his credibility as a storyteller and communicator to helping normalize the conversation around microdosing and mushrooms - and he’s always a ball of energy and radiant presence as many of you know. Let’s show him some love and snag a shirt or a beanie from the collection below ( I rock the ‘Microdosing’ shirt quite often ).

In other news, I’ve recently discovered Mushroom Essences

After Fruiting Bodies Co-Founder Ken was on last week’s Incubator, I popped over to their website to see what’s new. Many of us are familiar with their exceptional Cordyceps Chocolate and other functional mushroom products, but the Mushroom Essences really stole the show for me this time around.

Here’s their description of what exaclty a ‘mushroom essence’ product is:

Mushroom essences are a unique type of vibrational remedy made from the fruiting bodies of fungi. They capture the energetic and subtle qualities of mushrooms, offering a way to connect with their wisdom and benefits beyond physical consumption. These essences are produced primarily from:

  • Polypores (spores released from pores)

  • Basidiomycetes (gilled mushrooms)

  • Ascomycetes (cup fungi)

Mushroom essences help create opportunities for emotional and psychological change by revealing deeply buried issues and patterns. Unlike flower essences, which are connected to light, mushrooms symbolize the dark and mysterious aspects of our psyche, offering insights into shadowed emotions and beliefs. They can be beneficial in therapeutic settings, aiding individuals in exploring and processing their internal struggles.

I mean, just look at the mushrooms that they make their essences from (and there are 48 different ones in total, many of which I’ve never seen incorporated into a mushroom product!) -

Fun Fact: The Fruiting Bodies founders met after one heard the other being interviewed on Mycopreneur Podcast - they’ve since sponsored Telluride Mushroom Festival 2023 and partnered with legendary mushroom expert Robert Rogers on the above product line

I’m always on the lookout for new and interesting Mycopreneurs offering unique mushroom products and services; there are new developments every day in this space, and one can only imagien where we go from here.

Along those lines, I curated a list of 8 Mushroom-Centric Gift Ideas For The Shroom Lover In Your Life for GreenState

Another Fun Fact: GreenState is a portfolio company of Hearst Communications, the 137 year old media empire that includes Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Men’s Health, the San Francisco Chronicle, and many more properties under their umbrella.

Mycopreneur Podcast

Did  you catch the most recent Mycopreneur Podcast episode with mushroom industry veteran Bill Chioffi of Nammex and Real Mushrooms? Since we’re all mushroom entrepreneurs and enthusiasts here, this episode is required listening for anyone who wants to keep their finger on the pulse of what’s happening in the mushroom supplement space. I mean, these are two of the biggest mushroom brands in the world and Bill shares vital intel from start to finish in this interview.

Alrighty then, thanks for checking out the newsletter - please keep me in the loop with any developments I should know about or ideas for how to continue to improve this newsletter by replying to the email.
