We’ve been on a roll with some serious myco mojo dialed in and I’m stoked to see IRL and offline connections resulting from relationships formed in the Incubator.

I still regularly get messages asking what the incubator is so in as pithy and concise a framing as possible it is:

An opportunity to connect with the global mushroom entrepreneurial ecosystem in real time and learn + grow together.

As mushroom entrepreneurs, many of us face similar challenges and opportunities inherent to running a mycocentric business. The best way to navigate these is to connect with others who are in your shoes.

Shoutout to Oklahoma Mushroom Festival and Oklahoma Fungi for supporting the Mycopreneur Podcast and being a massively positive and professional contributor to the myco community at large - I’ll be one of the speakers at this event October 12-13 and it’s totally worth finding your way out there. They haven’t announced all the speakers yet but the lineup is stacked, the networking is unparalleled, and it’s in a 17,000 square foot venue with tons of value packed into the lowest price point I’ve ever seen for an event of this scale and quality - $15 for a one day ticket and $100 for a full weekend VIP package.

A few days ago I published this article on GreenState covering 7 Upcoming Mushroom Festivals You Should Know About: How many of these are you familiar with and which ones might I have missed?

Yesterday I had a feature in Benzinga that showcases a lot of my current thinking about the status quo and future role of psychedelics in society that can be viewed here:

Funny story on this one: The editor at Benzinga saw a satirical skit called ā€œThe Psychedelic Hedge Fundā€ that I recently reposted on my IG. The skit was shot on Wall Street back in 2022 after the Horizons: Perspectives on Psychedelics conference in NYC that I was invited to as press, and landed this feature several years later - moral of the story, put your work out there and don’t be afraid to repost it. This is a strategy I’ve used numerous times over the last few years; as algorithms change and people come and go, the dynamics of your audience may be totally different today than they were 6 months or two years ago. This is another reason why it’s not a bad idea to work towards creating some ā€˜evergreen content’ that is educational / funny / adds value to people’s timelines rather than exclusively creating topical / trendy content that will no longer be relevant in a few weeks, months, or years.

Hello from London, I’m here for a few days before attending the All Things Fungi festival in the countryside of West Sussex. This event is a 3 day celebration of…you guessed it, All Things Fungi, and I’m ā€˜chuffed’ (english parlance) to be giving a talk on the state of the global mushroom industry with Marc Violo fo MycoStories. There are a lot of very familiar names from the UK / U.S. myco community that will be in attendance, and people that you don’t often see at the same place and time given the geographic distribution of our locations.

Alright it’s time to go hit up a proper British breakfast - I’m thinking extra beans, tomatos, and black pudding 😁

See you all at the incubator! Hit me in the replies with any questions or ideas.

Cheers!
