More commonly known as 'Turkey Tail Mushrooms', Trametes versicolor is a multicolored polypore mushroom found in many regions throughout the world.
Polypore = A mushroom with a central stipe (stalk or stem in fungi talk) and many pores on the underside of the cap.
This mushroom has proven anti-tumor benefits which are derived from 'Krestin', a polysaccharide chain extracted from Trametes versicolor that has been used to support cancer treatment in Japan for decades.
Shoutout to Fungi Flows for breaking the world record for longest freestyle rap with a commanding 50 hour marathon freestyle that featured myco-centric themes heavily throughout the exhibition.
Guinness should be certifying this achievement in the next few months, but in the meantime, those of us who got to witness it in real time (well...maybe not the whole 50 hours 😂) will always remember where we were when fungi freestyle history was made.
AI-driven social media censorship is having a tough time distinguishing between high-quality, accurate mushroom education and nefarious bots and scammers preying on naive social media users.
The family-friendly Oklahoma Fungi YouTube channel was permanently disabled recently despite being one of THE absolute best mushroom-themed educational resources on the entire platform. 120 videos of top-notch, completely innocuous educational content wiped clean with one AI-generated sweep despite never having incurred a single strike or warning since the inception of the channel in 2020.

In other news involving the root word 'Jacob', last week I was quoted in this thought-provoking piece titled "Big Money Is Taking Over MDMA Assisted Therapy" by prolific drug journalist (and dear friend) Mattha Busby.
It's really no surprise that this is the path that MDMA-assisted therapy is being routed towards, and one wonders where the pendulum will fall along the path between personal freedoms and rigidly hierarchically controlled access models in the forthcoming 'legal psilocybin market'.
I was interviewed on a bunch of podcasts last week, each with their own flavor and flair -
Totally recommend checking out Mind Escape podcast - The host, Mike, is a genuinely cool person who has had numerous epic guests on the podcast to talk about the really interesting stuff in our world: Alien abductions, advanced ancient civilizations, touring with Phish, and mushrooms.
My podcast episode with UK-based The Simpa Life was released in the last few days as well. The host Simpa Carter writes for Weed World and a bunch of other outlets and has a refreshingly refined yet casual conversational ability that is oftentimes lacking in the world of interviewers.
And finally I was stoked to see the release of my episode on Conscious Conversations with host Daria Salih. Daria is an absolute riot and has been making some big moves in the psychedelic space as of late.

My Co-Founder Kevin and I have been hand making functional mushroom chocolate from bean to bar for almost three years now, and now we've gone legit.
There are a lot of moving parts to taking Mycoday to the next level, and I want you all to be a part of what we're building from the get go.
We're in the process of getting our first 1,000 bars dialed in and ready to bring to market - stay tuned 🤩
