Speaking of Oklahoma, I’m getting really excited for the upcoming 2nd Annual Oklahoma Mushroom Festival happening October 12-13 in Oklahoma City.

I’m giving a talk titled “Myco Mojo: Humor as a Tool for Navigating the Mushroom Universe” alongside 35+ other renowned mushroom educators and entrepreneurs from across the U.S., 100+ vendors, and hands on workshops touching all areas of the mycoverse in a 17,000 square foot building. Did I mention that with prices starting at $15 for a one day general admission pass and ranging through $100 for a 2 day VIP pass, it’s ridiculously affordable and accessible? In other myco news, check out this surfboard made out of mycelium courtesy of Maku Surf in Ployharnel, France - credit to Marc Violo from MycoStories for putting this awesome project on my radar. Who’s gonna make the first mycelium surf board in the U.S. 👀 ?

Marc Violo and I will be sharing the stage at All Things Fungi festival in the picturesque countryside of Sussex, England next month. This is the inaugural version of the festival, which is uniting leading cultural and scientific myco pioneers from ‘both sides of the pond’.

Marc and I are giving a talk on the state of the global fungi business ecosystem.

I’m also hosting a mushroom gameshow as part of the opening ceremony on the first night of the festival, so if anyone has any context specific one-liners or cultural references that I can work into jokes that will land with a primarily British audience, please do send them my way ( :

I’m particularly excited to stay in one of the Glamping pods on site - ahh glamping, the free range organic chicken of the camping world.
