Telluride mushroom Festival Kicks Off

Howdy Myco fam,

Hello from beautiful and bucolic Telluride, Colorado. The 45th annual Telluride Mushroom Festival kicked off yesterday and I’m here reporting on location. In light of this, there will be no Mycopreneur Incubator this week - see you all next week.

ā€˜TMF’ is the oldest and biggest mushroom festival in the United States, attracting over 1,000 people to this ritzy hamlet in the San Juan Mountains for a week of wild mushroom forays, home mushroom cultivation workshops, expert keynotes from the likes of Paul Stamets, Dennis McKenna and William Padilla-Brown, haute cuisine pop up dinners and the famous costume parade that takes over the town’s main street every year to cap off the event.

I’m here with the famous mushroom substrate kingpins Poo God, who have made quite the impression on attendees already on day one. Poo God offers perfectly executed Exotic Mushroom Substrate as well as premium liquid culture mushroom genetics of strains like Hillbilly and MelMac. They have Monotubs filled with rotund, beautiful ā€˜White Billy’ mushroom canopies on display here at their booth and people are encouraged to pick their own mushroom and have themselves a day.

I commuted via Gondola from our incredible condo to the festival today with a few of these montubs.

I just got out if a talk by the magnificent Giuliana Furci of Fungi Foundation in Chile šŸ‡ØšŸ‡± - she updated us on the ongoing global diplomacy initiatives of Fungi Foundation to archive traditional indigenous fungi knowledge and how to use mycologically and indigenously inclusive language in international environmental policy frameworks with the United Nations. More to come on that for sure.

Last night I caught Paul Stamets’ keynote and even had a chance to connect with him for a minute.

Stay tuned for our recap of this extraordinary festival coming next week

I’m writing this newsletter on my phone for the first time today so am learning on the fly agaric šŸ„here in terms of a new interface but wanted to keep you all updated on what’s happening.

And speaking of Fly Agaric (Amanita muscaria), next years harvest is en route to our partners at Minnesota Nice Ethnobotanicals, which for you means that major discounts are available in remaining inventory:

šŸ„ Here's what's going on:

We’re preparing for the next Amanita harvest season and doing a special pre-harvest blowout sale to move some of last season’s best caps and capsules. This means steep discounts (some up to 47% off) on Amanita Muscaria and Amanita Regalis—exclusively for first-timers, fans, and followers. Check this crazy discounted offer out below:

There’s soooo much going on at this festival so I’m going to get back to it right now -

Thanks for reading the Mycopreneur Newsletter and see you all next week āœŒšŸ¼
