We've been Nominated
Media Company & Reporter of the Year
Weāve been nominated for Media Company of the Year and Reporter of the Year at the Third Annual Wonderland Awards at Wonderland Conference presented by Microdose. This is a huge industry conference and Iām surprised and honored to receive this nod.
Since Mycopreneur is currently a one man show, technically itās only me who has been nominated, but I use āthe royal weā here becauseā¦well I wouldnāt have a platform if it wasnāt for you. So weāve been nominated. Thank you, and Congratulations!
You can vote for me in either or both of these categories once a day for the next 8 days by following this link: https://awards.wonderlandconference.com/vote/
If you follow my work, youāll probably notice quite a few familiar brands and names among the other nominees. Vote for them too!
The truth of the matter is that having the opportunity to create content and write for all of you day in and day out is already the crowning achievement of my career. While receiving recognition on a global scale like this is tremendously motivating and validating, the daily hustle and the tears of laughter and joy that come from the sweat equity put into Mycopreneur are the highest reward in and of themselves. But hell yeah itād still be cool to win one of these awards, especially since Iām an independent and 100% bootstrapped media company going up against publicly traded and well-funded operations.
Thank you all for riding this wild and unintentionally hilarious psychedelic mainstreaming wave with me, and tap into the podcast if you havenāt yet. There are some absolute bangers in the pipeline with legendary figures of the mushroom space. Itās increasingly often now that I hear āWe havenāt publicly announced this yet butā¦ā coming from bonafide pioneers and industry movers while on the podcast. I like when people cozy up to me like that before a global audience.
Before I dip, I need to call your attention to a couple of extraordinary mycopreneurs who I was fortunate enough to spend a good chunk of time with in Europe recently.
Batuhan Bintas - āBatuā for short - is a London-based technologist and psychonaut who is easily one of the most larger than life characters and genius designers Iāve ever met. He is the founder of Cyber Mushroom, a Virtual Reality platform that simulates a mushroom trip. Iām really impressed with Batuās engineering and execution on Cyber Mushroom. In fact, Paul Stamets and many other myconauts who have experienced Batuās creation have also been seriously impressed by it.
But the most impressive thing about Cyber Mushroom is the social impact vision of what this technology and itās creator aspire towards; Batu is actively working to bring VR to refugee camps and crisis zones to educate and empower people who are confined by arbitrary and soul-crushing borders and circumstances through no fault of their own, such as in his native homeland of Turkey where Batu recently brought the magic of VR to inspire people impacted by the devastating earthquake that happened there this year.
Another Mycopreneur I want to highlight is Jais from Lucydelic.
Lucydelic is a French platform dedicated to the artistic and culture aspects of psychedelics. Jais has one of the largest psychedelic art collections in the world, with tens of thousands of rare pieces that youād have to see to believe. While visiting him in his Paris apartment in September, I got to see a small portion of the collection, which included an original signed print of the poster for the first ever Grateful Dead show, original Owsley blotter art, pieces dating back to the 1890ās, and so much more. Jais is a psychonauts psychonaut, and more than anything he is a sincere and truly humble curator of psychedelic culture and and history in the western world, as well as a steward of authenticity and aesthetic in the world of psychedelic art.
